Mavs' Porzingis returns from injury with 20 points

The Boston Celtics took a commanding 1-0 lead in the NBA Finals on Thursday night, defeating the Dallas Mavericks 107-89 in Game 1. Jayson Tatum led the way for the Celtics with 32 points, while Jaylen Brown added 29 points.

The Celtics were in control from the opening tip, leading by as many as 23 points in the first half. The Mavericks made a run in the third quarter, cutting the lead to 8 points, but the Celtics responded with a 10-0 run to put the game away.

Kristaps Porzingis returned to the Mavericks' lineup after missing the last two games with a calf injury. He scored 20 points on 8-of-16 shooting, but he also had 7 turnovers.

Luka Doncic led the Mavericks with 30 points, 14 rebounds, and 9 assists. However, he shot just 26-of-69 from the field.

The Celtics will host the Mavericks in Game 2 on Sunday night. The Mavericks will need to find a way to slow down Tatum and Brown if they want to tie the series.
