Coyotes Top Canucks in Overtime, Ingram Shines
Schmaltz Scores Twice, Ingram Stops 26 Shots
Arizona Coyotes vs. Vancouver Canucks
GLENDALE, Ariz. -- Nick Schmaltz scored two goals, Connor Ingram stopped 26 shots, and the Arizona Coyotes beat the Vancouver Canucks 3-2 in overtime on Tuesday night.
Ingram made a clutch save against Filip Hronek in the final seconds of regulation to force overtime. Schmaltz then won it for the Coyotes 1:08 into the extra period with a shot from the slot.
Juuso Valimaki also scored for the Coyotes, who have won three of their last four games.
Andrei Kuzmenko and Elias Pettersson scored for the Canucks, who have lost two straight.
The Coyotes took a 1-0 lead on Valimaki's goal 7:26 into the game. Schmaltz made it 2-0 with a power-play goal at 14:37 of the second period.
The Canucks tied the game in the third period on goals by Kuzmenko and Pettersson.
Ingram was outstanding in goal for the Coyotes, making several key saves to keep the Canucks at bay.
The Coyotes will host the Washington Capitals on Friday night.
